We all know about YouTube which was launched as a video sharing website in 2005. In 2006 Google bought this site and from that time Google is doing all major changes in it. It is a website on which we can stream videos on our device with a successful network connection. We can also start our YouTube channel on it and upload videos on our channel. There are various channels on YouTube related to Technology, cookery, cricket, Bollywood, Comedy, sports and many more. YouTube gained very much popularity as we can see any type of video on this by just sitting at one place. So it has become a very important component in our life. Persons all around the world can see these videos and increase our views. They can also react to our videos by commenting on it or by liking/disliking it. There is also an option of Adsense on YouTube, in which we can enable this on our channel and can earn money on the basis of our views. In exchange YouTube shows some advertisements on our channel. Later on, the feature of YouTube come to smartphones in the form of app. From that time there is a single YouTube app available on which we can watch videos. But this app get updates from time to time. Later on a new feature came to this too in which we can download these videos and can stream them without an internet connection. But these videos are not available on our device  for a long time, these videos need to be updated after some time which requires an internet connection.


Also this YouTube app requires a fast internet connection for streaming videos. So watching these videos at a low connection is not possible. In India some people are still using 2G network on their smartphones and also the internet speeds in India are not as Great as in some foreign countries.  Keeping in mind all these things YouTube introduced a new app named YouTube Go for India which according to the company can stream videos with slow internet connection. Last week YouTube released beta version of this app in India. So today I will tell you about my experience with this app.


This app has some different logo other than regular YouTube app. The logo of the app is in the shape of of a rocket having red color. So this logo looks good.


When we open the app firstly it ask for language in which we want to use the app. There are many languages available such as English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada etc. Than it requests to add our phone number to the app so that it can link our phone number. Than it asks to verify the mobile number which we provide. After clicking verify now it sends a verification code to our smartphone and verifies our phone number.


After all this procedure the original app opens up, it shows us some popular videos to us in the home window. On right hand side at the top it has search option in which we can search any video by typing it's name. As soon as we click on a video a window opens up showing slight shots which are in between the videos. But these shots are not very clear, so it is a little bit difficult to judge the video before playing it. Below this it shows our phone's available storage. It also shows two video qualities named basic quality and standard quality, we can choose whatever we want to choose. Below this it shows option to play the video or to save it. We can save or play the videos in both the qualities that are basic quality and standard quality. The video quality of basic one is really poor but the standard one is having really good quality, it looks very good on the phone. That's why the basic one has small storage size while the standard one has larger size.

The next task is to save the video. We can simply save the video by clicking on save button. For saving the video we require an internet connection. After downloading\saving the video on our phone we can simply see the video without any internet connection. This video doesn't get saved in our phone as a normal video but it is saved in some type of file. It uses the same concept as it is used in YouTube offline mode. So simply we can watch these videos only in YouTube Go app.

We can also share these videos with our friends without any internet connection. We can send these videos to our friends and can receive their videos with this app in very less time. In sending videos it uses the same concept as those of Share it and Xender. So it is very interesting. So this feature is a very good feature of this app. 
Also there is settings option on right side top corner of the app. In settings it shows our registered phone number, our Gmail id and install id. Also there is an option of update app where we can update this app when it is available. Also there is option of changing language of the app over here. We can choose any language as I mentioned earlier. Also it shows available storage in our mobile here. There is option of getting notifications of daily videos. We can also see our app history here what we have watched on YouTube till now.

Final Verdict : This app is actually made so that we can stream the YouTube videos even we are having low internet connection. But does it serve the purpose? I think partially yes, because we can't play the videos with slow internet even now but we can save it so that we can watch it later on. It takes some time to download the video. So if a person wants to watch a video intently and he is having a slow connection he can't watch it at the instant. So it serves the purpose partially. Overall the app is very basic, very easy to use and available in many languages. The most interesting feature in this app is that we can share these  videos with good speeds which make it easy to send it to friends. So my final verdict is that YouTube has done a great job but it has to do more to improve it.

All of us know about the processor which is a very important component of a digital system whether it is a smartphone or a computer. This processor decides the speed of the of the device, how fast it works and how fast it will complete a task. So it is a really important component of a system. Nowadays we all want our all tasks to complete very fast. So which thing determines which processor is fast and which one is slow? I will answer this thing in the later part. But first thing to note down here is we all have heard about the clock speeds of our computer's or smartphone's processor which are measured in GHz. So today I am going to discuss about these clock speeds. So what are actually these clock speeds and what actually they measure?

Processor is made of a large number of circuits. In this circuit there is a particular clock which switches the circuit at a particular speed. The clock speed actually depicts how many times this circuit is getting switched on or off in a second. So if the clock speed of a processor is 2 GHz this means that this switching is done 2 billion times in a second. So it means simply that more is the clock speed more fast is the processor.

Something around 10 years back we had Intel Pentium processors which have clock speeds something around 2 to 3 GHz and nowadays we have Intel core i5 and i7 chips which are also having clock speeds something around 2.5 - 3.5 GHz. So does it mean that we haven't done any progress, there is no improvement in the speed of the processor. But it is not like this at all. Clock speeds just depict the switching of the circuit. Actually speed of the processor is not only depicted by the clock speeds but this also depends on the arrangement of the circuit of the processor. So core i5 or i7 processors have a much better arrangement of the processor's circuit so it simply do the tasks faster. But how it is able to do the tasks faster by just having the same clock speeds.

Let's say an Intel Pentium processor does a task when there is switching for 5 times and at the same time a core i5 processor does this same task just in one switching. So that better arrangement of the circuit of core i5 processor makes it to do the tasks faster by reducing the switching times. So in this way we have made success in processor in industry by even having the same clock speeds.

These days there is a war between different telecommunication companies on higher internet speeds. So these companies have launched their 4G network in various countries around the globe to provide better internet speeds and are even working on 5G network which will launch in few years to provide further better speeds. There are many companies in India such as Idea, Airtel, Vodafone, Jio and Reliance communication which have launched their 4G networks installed in India.
These companies promise very great internet speeds of their networks. But have we ever got that speeds? The answer to this is simply no. Let's say a company is saying that it's internet speed is 150 Mbps, but getting this much speed is just a miracle. We can maximum get 10 to 15 MBps speed on our browser or torrent downloader and this much speed is also very rare. But when we check these internet speeds on a speed checker we again get speeds which these companies claim but while downloading we don't get these speeds. So the question arises that why these companies are claiming that much high speeds and we are just able to get 10% of these speeds which are also very rare.
Are these companies making fool of us? No they are not. Actually these companies and speed checker always tell internet speeds in megabits per second while our browser measure speeds in megabytes per second. There is great gap between these two units.
1 Megabyte = 8 Megabyte
So we have to actually divide the Megabite speed by 8 to convert it to Megabyte. Let's take the above example that if a company says that it's internet speed is 150 Mbps actually we will get maximum speed of about 18.75 MBps of speed on our phone. This speed is also maximum and getting this much speed is also very rare.

Lenovo P2

Last year Lenovo introduced a new series in it's mid range mobile segment that is vibe series. In this series company launched a smartphone Lenovo Vibe P1. This smartphone didn't get much success due to it's lot of shortcomings. This time company has launched successor to this, Lenovo P2. This is also launched in mid range segment. The company is saying that this smartphone is much better than Lenovo P1. This smartphone is gaining much popularity due to it's massive battery and it's really fast charging. This comes with 5100 mah of battery which is really exceptional in this price segment. The smartphone is also powered by Snapdragon 625 which further increases the battery life of the device. The phone has two versions that are 3GB RAM and 4 GB RAM. Both of these have 32GB of internal storage. The 3GB RAM model is priced at 17000 INR and the 4GB RAM model is priced at 18000 INR. Let's see whether it is a good buy at this price.

Lenovo P2 has the same design as we have seen in many of the smartphones in this price segment. It has that metal back with plastic strips at top and bottom to hide the antenna lines. The metal used is aluminum. We have seen this kind of design in many of the phones. The phone is rectangular in shape. It also has chamfered edges which looks really good. On front it has 5.5 inch IPS LCD screen. Above the screen there is secondary camera, LED notification light and couple of sensors. At bottom it has home key which also doubles as fingerprint sensor. On left side of the phone there is SIM tray which can accept either two nano SIM's or One SIM and other Micro SD card. Below this SIM tray it has one tiny key which acts as a switch between power saving mode and normal mode. On right side it has Power on/off button and volume rockers. On top it has 3.5 mm jack and secondary noise cancellation. On bottom it has USB port, microphone and speaker. At back it has Primary camera, LED flash and Lenovo branding. This design of the phone is really common theses days. But the phone looks premium due to it's metal build.


Lenovo P2 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 processor. This processor got really famous this year due to it's power efficiency and good performance. Actually this chipset is build on 14nm architecture that's why it is really power efficient. So the performance of the smartphone will also be really good by seeing the processor used. But it totally depends on optimisation between the hardware and the software which tells about the performance of the device for a end user. 


Display used in this device is an AMOLED display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The resolution of this display is full HD that is 1080p. This phone is having 401 pixel per inch which is really good. Lenovo has actually used Samsung's AMOLED display for the device. All of us know that Samsung makes very good displays, so probably the display used is really good one.

User interface

The user interface of the device is Lenovo's own custom UI. The UI is very close to stock android. The User interface is a light version of Lenovo's UI so it is also very good. It comes with Android Launcher which is built in. But we can also switch to the Vibe Launcher according to our choice.


The device come equipped with non removable 5100 mah battery. The battery life of this device will be insane. As this device has Snapdragon 625 chipset the battery life of the device will be really awesome. Actually Snapdragon 625 chipset is build on 14nm architecture which is really power efficient. Not only this the phone also charges very fast as it comes with a custom charger in the box. This charger can charge the phone fully in 2 to 2.5 hours. So this is really fast considering the massive battery. Lenovo is claiming that with charge of only 10 minutes the device's battery can easily last for 10 hours. This device can also act like a power bank and can charge another phone by connecting with a cable.


Performance of camera on Lenovo P1 was not good, it was pretty average. So we are expecting an improvement in camera department. Seeing the specs both of these have 13 MP rear camera. But Lenovo P1's rear camera is having an aperure size of f/2.2 while Lenovo  P2's  rear camera is having aperture size of f/2.0. As Lenovo P2 rear camera has larger aperture so it will allow more light to enter the camera. So this will improve the image quality particularly in low lightening  conditions. Lenovo P1's rear camera can shoot videos only upto full HD while Lenovo P2's rear camera can also shoot 4K videos. 
While there is no improvement in specs of secondary camera. But these are only specs nothing can be said about the real performance of the camera without actually using the device. But on paper there is improvement in the camera.


Lenovo P2 is equipped with just single speaker which is at the bottom. It also doesn't have that Dolby Atmos functionality. It is really confusing on Lenovo's part that it is powering Dolby Atmos technology in a device which costs 7000 INR and on the other hand it is not using this technology in a device which costs 17000 INR. Dolby Atmos not only improves the sound output via speakers but it also improves the sound output via headphone jack. So it is really important.

 Final Verdict


This device is available at Flipkart at 17000 INR for 3GB RAM model and at 18000 INR for 4GB RAM model. At this price i think it is not a good buy. It doesn't mean that this phone is bad, the phone is good but it is not value for money. I know that it comes with fast processor but Redmi note 4 which also get launched last month has the same processor that is Snapdragon 625 and is priced much less than Lenovo P2. Lenovo P2 also has better display than Redmi Note 4 but it doesn't matter a lot. We know that Lenovo P2 has a insane battery life which can last for 3 days as claimed by the company. But in real life do we really need a 3 days battery life, it may be really good for some users and for many it doesn't matter a lot. Heavy users will be happy from this but it may not for moderate users. So spending 18000 INR for this phone is not cool. Instead of this you can simply go for Lenovo Z2 Plus whose 4 GB RAM model is available at 17500 INR which is a really good choice as this has Snapdragon 820 chipset which is found in flagships only. Or you can simply go for Redmi Note 4 which can give you same experience as Lenovo P2.
