HTC One X10

HTC One X10

We all have heard about HTC, the company well known for making android smartphones. HTC is the company which has given us the first android smartphone that is HTC G1. It is a very prominent company in the smartphone industry. But from last 2-3 years company is incurring losses due to less sales of it's mobiles. There are many reasons for these losses. One of these, which is very bad on HTC's part is the bad pricing of the smartphones. HTC prices smartphone very high as compared to it's competitors. Also it is facing very tough competition from chinese makers which prices their phones very aggressively. This is the condition in the mid range and budget segment of the smartphones. In Flagship market HTC launches it's smartphones against Apple and Samsung. And of course it's smartphones are not good than them but it prices it's smartphones more or less same to their prices. So this is another reason for low sales of htc phones. And now HTC has unveiled another smartphone in it's mid range segment that is HTC One X10. So without wasting further time let's see some of the specs of the phone.

So this is a mid range smartphone by HTC. So let's see how is this smartphone and is it a worth buying smartphone or not.

HTC One X10 has a 5.5 inch full HD display. The display is Super LCD type and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass on front. HTC One X10 has full metal body which looks like other flagship phones from HTC from the pictures. So the built quality of the device will be really good as all other phones of htc always have some solid type of design. But in this the company has provided fingerprint sensor at the back. So the design of the smartphone will be really good and premium.

HTC One X10 has a 16 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, OIS, autofocus and dual LED dual tone flash. It can record videos upto 2160p @ 30fps. It has a 8MP secondary camera. The camera department of this phone should be good as it is having Optical Image Stabilization which is missing in many phones priced like this these days. The camera will be very good in good lightening conditions but in low lightening conditions the shots can be noisy due to small sensor size of the rear camera. But the photos can also be good in low lightening conditions too because I am just telling by seeing the specs.

HTC One X10 is powered by Mediatek Helio P10 chipset which is based on octa core processor with four cortex A-53 cores cloaked at 1.8GHz and the other four cortex A-53 cores cloaked at 1GHz each. The phone will be good in general performance. There won't be any issues and lags in day to day usage of the device. For graphics the phone is powered by Mali-T860MP2 GPU. The phone will be good in general usage but when it moves to high graphic intensive tasks like playing heavy games such as Asphalt 8, Nova 3, Gangster Vegas and many more, the phone can have minor lags and frame drops here and there. But all things depend upon optimization these days, if htc has optimized it nicely it can perform better too.

HTC One X10 is powered by 4000 mah battery, so there won't be any issue regarding the battery life of the phone. According to me the phone's battery can easily last for a full day with a single full charge. But there is no fast charging in this device so it may take time to charge the phone. Also the company is powering some boost+ feature in this phone. In this feature the phone itself optimizes the phone and increases the performance according the current task running. It helps in reducing the power consumption of the device and further prolongs the running time.

The sound output of the device will be very good, as it is having Dolby atmos technology. So the sound of the device will give a more real feel. The phone still comes with Android Marshmallow v6.0. Now every device in the market is launching with Android Nougat but it is still powered by Android marshmallow.

The device is having all the basic sensors such as fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass. Also this is having a dedicated memory card slot through which memory can be expandable upto 2TB.

HTC One X10 is priced at something around 23000 INR and it will be available in Russia right now. The company didn't mention anything about the global availability of the device. HTC has done a good job with the device. It is priced quite aggressively not like other phones from htc. But HTC should have used a better chip on this device because Helio P10 is not enough to do all the tasks alone. Also the company should power this up with Android Nougat. Overall the phone is good and can be considered to buy, but it isn't available in India. Maybe it will launch in India in the coming days.
